Vice President J.D. Meanwhile, Russell Vought, a key architect behind Trump’s plan to reshape the federal government, has ordered the shutdown of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau headquarters for an entire week. In a directive sent to all employees, he instructed them not to perform any work tasks unless they received written approval from the agency’s chief legal officer. The union representing CFPB employees has since filed a lawsuit to challenge the order.
